Barge Coordination Specialist
 

Supporting a global leader in marine services, looking for an Barge Coordination Specialist committed to excellence in delivery management, inventory control, and order processing.

Roles & Responsibilities: 
  • Manage Delivery Process : Oversee the steps from customer inquiries to final delivery on vessels, coordinating with Customer Service and logistics providers.
  • Check Stock Levels : Keep track of inventory on boats and with suppliers, working with planners to maintain agreed stock amounts.
  • Coordinate Shipments : Work with shipping agents and Port Authorities to ensure vessels are supplied on time.
  • Maintain Schedules : Keep vessel schedules updated to ensure timely deliveries using barges and trucks, communicating with agents and Customer Service.
  • Acknowledge Orders : Make sure all orders are confirmed and delivered promptly.
  • Prepare Delivery Receipts : Create and issue receipts based on customer orders before supplying.
  • Ensure Timely Deliveries : Guarantee that orders reach customers’ vessels according to our standards and metrics.
  • Monitor Product Flow : Check that the product movement is accurately recorded in our data systems.
  • Reconcile Balances : Verify physical inventory at boats and warehouses each month.
  • Support Special Projects : Help out with additional tasks or projects as needed.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Relevant experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a track record of meeting delivery requirements.
  • Good contract management skills, including monitoring KPIs and driving improvements with logistics service providers (LSPs).
  • Ability to identify consumer behaviors and expectations.
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel.
