An internationally renowned shipping group is seeking a commercially astute and data-driven Global Pricing & Markets Manager to take ownership of pricing strategy, market management, and contribution performance across their container services.
 
This is a strategic and highly visible role leading a global team responsible for revenue contribution, pricing frameworks, and market intelligence in support of business growth.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the pricing and contribution strategy across all trade lanes to maximize commercial performance.
  • Develop and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for cargo contribution globally.
  • Collaborate with commercial, network, and strategy teams to align pricing decisions with operational capacity and market dynamics.
  • Build and coach a team of regional market managers, ensuring deep market expertise and efficient customer response processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement through data analytics, systems adoption, and performance reporting.
  • Champion customer-centric pricing models while maintaining competitiveness and profitability.
  • Monitor global trends and report on competitor activity, capacity changes, and pricing pressures.
 
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in shipping, logistics, or transportation sectors. Those with container liner exposure will be held in high regard.
  • Proven success in pricing, revenue management, trade lane planning, or similar commercial leadership roles.
  • Deep understanding of contribution-based budgeting, market strategy, and ocean freight economics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse and remote teams across multiple time zones.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with an ability to make high-stakes decisions using both data and intuition.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Maritime Studies, or related field required; postgraduate qualifications an advantage.
