Our Story
Angle Recruitment is a specialist maritime recruitment and executive search firm headquartered in Singapore. We focus exclusively on shore-based hiring across commercial shipping, ship management, marine, offshore renewables, and energy and commodities.
Founded by a recruiter who has spent his career in maritime, we work with shipowners, operators, ship managers, classification societies, port authorities, and energy companies worldwide. No generalist recruiters. No shortcuts.
We started Angle because we saw a gap. Maritime companies were being served by firms that spread themselves too thin, across too many sectors, with too little genuine industry knowledge. We wanted to do something different.
That meant being honest about what we are. A small, focused team of maritime recruitment specialists. People who understand the difference between a ship manager, a shipowner, and a ship operator. Who know what a Technical Superintendent actually does on a Monday morning. Who can have a proper conversation with a Chief Operating Officer about their hiring challenge without needing a briefing note first.
Our ambition is not to be the largest maritime recruiter. It is to be the most trusted one.
Customers
We work closely with a focused portfolio of clients. That means genuine account management, not a revolving door of consultants who don't know your business. Every client has a single point of contact who understands your company, your culture, and the type of people who succeed with you.
We ask better questions than most. Because hiring the wrong person in a niche industry is expensive and slow to fix.
Methodology
We apply executive search rigour to every assignment, not just the senior ones. That means mapping the market, approaching passive candidates, and evaluating fit beyond the CV.
Skills matter. So does personality. So does the question of whether someone will still be with you in three years.
Team
We keep the team deliberately lean. Every consultant at Angle has meaningful maritime sector experience. Nobody is learning the industry on your time.

We use modern recruitment tools and AI to work smarter, not to replace the judgment that comes from knowing this industry well. Technology handles the admin. Our people handle the relationships.
