Head of ESG
Angle Recruitment has partnered with a leading shipping company to appoint a Head of ESG.
The Role
The Head of ESG will lead global sustainability and reporting initiatives, ensuring compliance with CSRD, EU Taxonomy, ISSB, and other key standards. This role will enhance transparency, strengthen governance, and embed ESG across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver ESG strategy and reporting framework.
- Oversee ESG data collection, validation, and submissions to rating agencies (CDP, MSCI, Sustainalytics, EcoVadis, etc.).
- Manage greenhouse gas emissions reporting and automated ESG data systems.
- Engage with investors, regulators, and internal teams on ESG performance.
- Monitor global regulations, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead ESG team development and manage budgets.
- Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 15 years' experience in ESG, sustainability, or CSR leadership.
- Strong knowledge of CSRD, EU Taxonomy, ISSB, TCFD, and ESG ratings.
- Skilled in reporting, stakeholder engagement, and data analysis.
- Professional ESG or sustainability certification preferred; maritime/shipping/offshore experience an advantage.
