We’re hiring on behalf of a leading shipping company
building a series of next-generation container vessels in South Korea
.
They’re looking for an experienced Site Manager
to oversee construction, quality, safety, and delivery across the newbuild programme.
This is a 20-month contract
, working closely with the shipping company’s project team, shipyard, and class to ensure standards are met throughout the build.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead site supervision from steel cutting through to vessel delivery
- Ensure full compliance with specs, class rules, and international standards
- Monitor build progress, quality, and safety on a day-to-day basis
- Liaise with shipyard staff, subcontractors, class, and the company’s technical team
- Conduct inspections and report on milestones, deviations, and site activities
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing newbuild sites
- Solid track record in container ship construction
- Previous exposure to South Korean shipyards
- Engineering background (naval architecture or marine engineering preferred)
- Strong communicator in English; Korean language skills a plus
- Detail-oriented and confident driving standards in a high-paced yard environment
Contract Duration: 20 months
