We are seeking an experienced Bulk Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day commercial operations of a dry bulk fleet, ensuring efficient voyage execution, cost control and strong operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end dry bulk vessel operations from fixture through voyage completion.
- Oversee voyage planning, vessel scheduling, port calls, cargo operations and bunkering.
- Coordinate with Masters, charterers, brokers, agents, terminals and service providers.
- Monitor vessel performance, bunker consumption, voyage costs and operational efficiency.
- Review charter party terms and manage laytime, demurrage/despatch and operational claims.
- Handle shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading and Letters of Indemnity.
- Resolve operational issues and minimise commercial and contractual exposure.
- Work closely with chartering, technical, finance and marine teams.
- Lead and support the operations team and provide updates to senior management.
- 5+ years of dry bulk shipping operations experience , ideally with leadership exposure.
- Strong knowledge of charter parties, voyage operations, laytime and demurrage.
- Experience with Handysize, Supramax/Ultramax, Panamax vessels.
- Strong commercial awareness, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous experience with a shipowner, operator or dry bulk trading company preferred.
