The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the fleet's HSSEQ function, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations, driving safety performance, managing audits and investigations, and promoting a strong safety culture across both shore-based and onboard personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the focal point for fleet HSSEQ compliance, including ISM, ISPS, MLC, and Flag State requirements.
- Maintain and continuously improve the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Lead internal and external audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
- Serve as Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and Company Security Officer (CSO).
- Monitor fleet HSSEQ performance and provide reporting to management.
- Support vessel takeovers, ship management activities, and emergency response preparedness.
- Lead and develop the HSSEQ team while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Master Mariner Class 1, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent maritime qualification.
- Lead Auditor certification for ISM and ISPS.
- Minimum 12 years of HSSEQ experience within the shipping, marine, or offshore industry.
- At least 3 years in a senior leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, audits, compliance, incident investigation, and safety management systems.
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 frameworks preferred.
