This is a hybrid role. You will work ashore and at sea, joining vessels to complete voyages, inspect operations, and turn findings into training, safety packages, DP standards and follow-up inspections.
Responsibilities
- Plan and complete marine assurance visits across the region, including joining vessels for inspections and selected voyages.
- Assess bridge resource management, DP operations, deck practice and crew competency in operational conditions.
- Produce clear assessment reports and brief regional management on findings and trends.
- Convert findings into training packages, safety campaigns, DP standards, inspection programmes and corrective actions.
- Support DP assurance on DP-capable vessels, particularly AHTS (D-class).
- Assist with vessel audits, OVID follow-up and close-out of actions.
- Support incident and near-miss follow-up, including investigations where required.
- Contribute to SMS familiarisation, Management of Change and regional safety meetings.
- Master Mariner (STCW II/2) or equivalent senior marine qualification.
- Nautical Institute DP certification (Unlimited preferred) and strong DP operational experience.
- Substantial OSV experience, ideally AHTS (D-class).
- Sound knowledge of ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, IMCA guidance and OVID / marine assurance practice.
- Able to inspect a vessel, write a usable report, and turn findings into practical training and standards.
- Willing and fit to travel frequently and complete voyages onboard across the region.
- Clear communicator, comfortable working with multinational crews and shore management.
Hybrid onshore / offshore. Significant time will be spent travelling to vessels, inspecting operations and completing voyages. Shore-based work will focus on reporting, training design, DP and marine standards, and closing out findings.
