Key Responsibilities
- Manage Hull & Machinery (H&M), crew, and marine insurance claims from notification through to settlement.
- Handle major vessel casualties, including fire, collision, grounding, salvage, and General Average incidents.
- Coordinate with insurers, P&I Clubs, surveyors, lawyers, and other external parties throughout the claims process.
- Investigate claims, identify liabilities, and pursue recoveries from responsible third parties and insurers.
- Manage H&M, P&I, and other marine insurance policies for the fleet.
- Support incident response, claims reporting, and legal proceedings where required.
- Provide claims and insurance guidance to internal stakeholders across the APAC region.
- Maintain accurate claims records and support continuous improvement of claims processes.
- Participate in an emergency response roster and occasional regional travel.
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Law, Maritime Studies, Marine Insurance, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 6–8 years of experience handling marine insurance or Hull & Machinery claims.
- Experience with a shipowner, ship manager, P&I Club, marine insurer, insurance broker, or maritime law firm.
- Strong knowledge of marine insurance, vessel casualty management, General Average, salvage, and claims recovery.
- Experience within the container shipping industry will be an advantage.
