This is a key role responsible for overseeing crewing standards, performance and strategy across the Philippines, acting as the owner's representative on the ground.
The Role
You will ensure that global crewing standards are consistently delivered through the local manning partner, while providing market insight and driving continuous improvement.
Key areas include:
- Overseeing and managing the performance of the appointed crewing agent
- Providing market intelligence on salaries, contracts and crew availability
- Ensuring compliance with MLC, IMO, Flag State and industry standards
- Building relationships with maritime academies, unions and regulators
- Supporting recruitment, interviews, deployment and retention initiatives
- Driving improvements in processes, systems and crew engagement
The Candidate
- Experience in crewing, ship management or maritime operations
- Strong knowledge of the Philippines crewing market
- Previous leadership or management experience
- Commercial awareness and a practical, hands-on approach
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive improvements
