Angle Recruitment has partnered with an established name in the tanker market to find the next leader of its commercial pool. Several key owners already sit inside the pool, and the plan now is to take it further.
The location is flexible. There's plenty of travel, so working remotely is fine, and there are offices worldwide if you'd rather base yourself in one.
In short, your job is to keep the ships well employed, the owners well served and the pool growing.
- Take full ownership of how the pool performs, how its service is delivered and how it grows
- Work with the chartering team to secure the right mix of spot and COA business
- Win new charterers and bring new tonnage into the pool, beyond the existing key accounts
- Be the commercial face of the pool to owners, charterers and brokers
- Keep a sharp eye on the market, competitors' positions and new trade lanes worth pursuing
You'll bring a tanker chartering or broking background, ideally in chemicals or CPP, and enough feel for the spot market to know how the pool wins its business. You don't need to have run a pool before, but it helps if you've played a part in one. You'll pair commercial instinct with the patience to build relationships that last beyond a single voyage.
