Angle Recruitment are looking for a Project Manager who knows aluminium hulls inside out and wants to take a newbuild from contract through to handover. You will sit inside an established international shipbuilder and own delivery from start to finish.
Aluminium experience is the non-negotiable. The kind of tonnage you have worked across is wide open: fast ferries, high speed craft, catamarans, crew transfer vessels, patrol and pilot boats, workboats, yachts. If you have built aluminium hulls and chased launch dates, this is your kind of project.
The role
You own delivery. That means the schedule, the budget, the quality standard, EHS, and the relationship with class and flag. You lead a mixed team of in house staff and subcontractors, make the technical calls when design and construction throw up surprises, and keep stakeholders in the picture with clean reporting.
QA/QC sits with you. So does subcontract and supplier management, which means real commercial teeth on contracts and a network of vendors, fabricators and class surveyors you already know how to lean on. The job is to spot risk early and close it out before it costs you weeks or money.
What we want to see
A track record running newbuild projects inside a shipyard, with aluminium build experience essential. Formal project management credentials are useful but not a deal breaker. You negotiate well, hold a position in a dispute without losing the room, and you read a contract properly.
You have worked across cultures and know what it takes to land a build in China without friction. Working language is English and Mandarin, so both are needed.
The package
Competitive salary, genuine career progression, and the chance to put your name against vessels that get launched rather than slide decks that get archived.
