Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on commercial, corporate, maritime, and operational matters.
- Lead and support mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, corporate restructuring, and other strategic transactions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and maritime agreements.
- Advise on cross-border business development projects, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic transactions.
- Identify legal risks and provide practical commercial solutions to business stakeholders.
- Manage external legal counsel and oversee legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support contract negotiations with financial institutions, customers, vendors, and business partners.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Qualified solicitor or barrister, preferably admitted in Singapore.
- 6 to 10 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) gained in private practice and/or an in-house legal role.
- Strong experience in mergers & acquisitions (M&A), corporate transactions, and commercial contracts.
- Proven experience supporting cross-border transactions, legal due diligence, and corporate structuring.
- Experience in maritime, shipping, logistics, transportation, or other multinational industries is advantageous.
- Strong ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial and transaction documents.
- Commercially minded with excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
