This is a rare opportunity to join a growing international shipowner and operator in a Singapore-based regional leadership role , overseeing vessel operations across multiple trade regions.
The Role As Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the end-to-end operational performance of a chemical tanker fleet, with a focus on IMO Type 1 & 2 vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the chemical tanker fleet, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant voyage execution
- Manage post-fixture operations including voyage instructions, cargo handling requirements, and performance monitoring
- Coordinate closely with chartering, technical, vetting, and commercial teams to ensure seamless execution
- Monitor vessel performance, port operations, and cargo operations to optimize efficiency and reduce delays
- Lead and mentor a regional operations team across multiple locations
- Handle operational issues including deviations, claims, off-hire situations, and cargo disputes
- Ensure full compliance with IMO regulations, charter party terms, and terminal requirements
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, charterers, agents, terminals, and service providers
- Drive continuous improvement in operational processes, cost control, and fleet performance
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in chemical tanker operations, including relevant sea-time experience (where applicable)
- Strong background in parcel chemical tankers with stainless steel tanks
- Deep understanding of IMO Type 1 & 2 vessel operations and cargo handling requirements
- Experience operating across EMEA or Americas trades, including loading/discharging at those ports
- Strong understanding of voyage execution, cargo operations, and post-fixture management
- Proven ability to manage operational teams or act as a senior operator within a regional setup
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to work closely with chartering team.
