We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Superintendent to take Owner-side responsibility for a vessel’s technical condition, machinery, maintenance, repairs and technical expenditure.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee vessel machinery, maintenance, defects and operational readiness
- Manage drydockings, major repairs, modifications and vessel reactivation
- Review technical proposals, quotations, variations and contractor invoices
- Manage technical procurement and critical spare requirements
- Supervise contractors and verify quality and completion of onboard works
- Liaise with Class, Flag, shipyards, equipment makers and ship managers
- Oversee the Chief Engineer and engine department from the Owner’s perspective
- Provide technical recommendations, reporting and expenditure control to the Owner
- Marine Engineer Officer Class 1 COC
- Former Chief Engineer; passenger vessel, RoPax, ferry, cruise, offshore or older-vessel experience preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ shore-based Technical Superintendent / Technical Manager experience
- Strong drydocking, major repair and contractor management experience
- Commercially strong with budgets, quotations and invoice verification
- Hands-on and willing to spend significant time onboard in Singapore and Johor
