Angle Recruitment has partnered exclusively with a growing international shipowner to set up its in house ship management division.
The role is based in Germany, with direct access to the shareholder and senior management.
In short, your job is to build the ship management platform and take charge of the technical side of the fleet.
- Set up the division, its structure and systems, and the DOC, ISM, ISPS and SMS framework
- Recruit and lead a team of technical and marine superintendents, QHSE and DPA
- Take vessels over from third party managers and lead technical due diligence on acquisitions
- Own the OPEX and CAPEX budgets, planned maintenance, dry dockings and special surveys
- Build relationships with class, flag, yards, suppliers and crewing partners
A seagoing background, ideally as Master or Chief Engineer, would be an advantage, as would Ferry, RoRo, PCTC or RoPax experience, or having set up a ship management organisation before. German is useful but not required.
In return, you'll get the rare chance to create a ship management division rather than inherit one. You'll have real autonomy, a central seat in the group's maritime leadership, and a package to match.
