Our client is an established shipping company with a long record in heavy lift and project cargo, moving the awkward and the oversized worldwide: wind turbine components, transformers, modules and marine equipment.

Technical management sits in Singapore, close to the commercial desk, so this is a role where the superintendent is part of the conversation on what the ships can lift, not just who keeps them running.

The role
  • You'll own a small fleet of heavy lift vessels end to end: maintenance, drydocking, budgets, crew and compliance.
  • You'll review lift plans, ballast and stability calculations and sea fastening with the cargo engineers, attend critical lifts, and keep the cranes, wires and hydraulics to class and maker standard.
  • You'll prepare vessels for charterer vetting, close out audits, manage OPEX and drydock budgets, and build a proper working relationship with your Masters and Chief Engineers.
  • Some travel, sometimes at short notice.

You
  • You're already a Vessel Manager or Technical Superintendent.
  • Heavy lift, project cargo or offshore construction vessels are a must.
  • You know your way around heavy lift cranes (Liebherr, NMF, Huisman or similar), ISM, class and PMS, and you're comfortable reading a lift plan.
  • Hands on, calm under pressure and commercially aware.
